0 Christopher Gutteridge <p><a href="http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/people/cjg">Christopher Gutteridge</a> is Web Projects Manager for the <a href="http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/">School of Electronics and Computer Science</a> at the <a href="http://www.soton.ac.uk/">University of Southampton</a> and has been working full-time on university web systems since 1997. He ran the website for the <a href="http://www2006.org">2006 International WWW Conference</a> and assisted with the <a href="http://www2007.org">2007 website</a>, and the <a href="http://www2009.eprints.org/">2009 Conference Repository</a>.</p> <p>Chris is also the lead developer of the award-winning <a href="http://eprints.org/software/">EPrints Software</a> which, as part of the <a href="http://www.earlham.edu/%7Epeters/fos/overview.htm">Open Access</a> movement has helped improve the world's access to research papers and other scholarly material. EPrints is used by around 200 universities, and other organisations, around the world and has been translated into more than ten languages.</p> <p>Along with Tony Hirst, from the Open University, he runs <a href="http://SplashURL.net/">SplashURL.net</a> - which provides convenient tools to get long URLs from one computer to another visually, specifically when doing a live demo with A URL too long for the audience to type in.</p> <p>In his spare time he developed a non-commercial <abbr title="Massively Multiplayer Online Role Play Game">MMORPG</abbr> called <a href="http://cities.totl.net/">Cities</a> and hopes that nobody will find out that he wrote the filter for the <a href="http://gimp.org/">GIMP image package</a> which adds coffee cup rings to pictures.</p> http://users.ecs.soton.ac.uk/people/cjg admin Webmaster http://id.ecs.soton.ac.uk/person/1248 http://semantictweet.com/cgutteridge#me
