Christopher Gutteridge

Christopher Gutteridge is Web Projects Manager for the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton and has been working full-time on university web systems since 1997. He ran the website for the 2006 International WWW Conference and assisted with the 2007 website, and the 2009 Conference Repository.
Chris is also the lead developer of the award-winning EPrints Software which, as part of the Open Access movement has helped improve the world's access to research papers and other scholarly material. EPrints is used by around 200 universities, and other organisations, around the world and has been translated into more than ten languages.
Along with Tony Hirst, from the Open University, he runs SplashURL.net - which provides convenient tools to get long URLs from one computer to another visually, specifically when doing a live demo with A URL too long for the audience to type in.
In his spare time he developed a non-commercial MMORPG called Cities and hopes that nobody will find out that he wrote the filter for the GIMP image package which adds coffee cup rings to pictures.
