Memories for Life Colloquium: The Future of our Pasts
12th December, 2006
British Library Conference Centre, London.

The potential of technology to shape and support human memory is only now beginning to become clear:

  • remedial prosthetics for those suffering from memory problems
  • technologies to address information overload in the workplace
  • the use of computers in the home to store private memories (such as the dramatic growth in digital photography).

Hence it is an important moment to look at the topic of memory in relation to the Web, at the beginning of two interlinked research agendas.
